Custom Guides
2 custom horizontal and 2 vertical FCP guidelines with on-screen controls assist with aligning text or graphics across multiple shots or projects. New in 2.0, disable the on screen controls.
HD & 4k Rulers
Enable 16:9 HD or 4k rulers to precisely place the custom guidelines for Final Cut Pro right down to the pixel.
Broadcast Safe Zones
Display 16:9 or 4:3 Title/Action Safe Zones (plus a center cross). Useful to create a single version destined for HD and center cut SD output. New in 2.0: control the safe or action size %.
Film Zone Presets
Display additional guides to help envision how your 16:9 project will look cropped to modern film ratios. Choose from a preset or, new in 2.0, a custom aspect ratio for your film guidelines in fcp.
Letterbox & Pillarbox
Letterbox or pillbox your 16:9 project. Choose from a preset or dial in a custom aspect. Adjust opacity and color of the letterbox for visualization and / or effect.
Alignment Grid
Display a gridlines to assist in your layouts. Adjust the grid density to control the number of horizontal and vertical guidelines displayed. Control the grid opacity.
Reference Overlays
Utilize a drop zone overlay to assist in shot matching and color correction. Choose from 8 different overlay positions.
Client Monitoring
Power Guides is a title overlay and can be enabled or disabled in the timeline. The overlay can be output to a client monitor or rendered into the final video for effect.

Power Guides is the grid overlay plugin I’ve been wanting ever since I began using FCPX over 3 years ago. There’s a lot packed into this one tool: a Grid with density & opacity adjustment, Title/Action Safe zones, Aspect Ratio guides, Rulers, Center Cut overlays for both 4:3 and 1:1 for Instagram, and several color settings depending on your preference. Another feature I really like is the 4 custom Guidelines, easily adjustable using sliders or onscreen handles.
This is one plugin I know I’ll be using in every project from now on!
